Easy Prawns Pulao, also known as Prawns Pulav, is a delicious and flavorful dish made with prawns, rice, and a variety of spices. It is a simple and easy dish that can be made in one pot and is often served as a main course. Here is a simple recipe for making Easy Prawns Pulao:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup basmati rice
- 1 pound prawns, peeled and deveined
- 2 cups water
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2-3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1-inch ginger, minced
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions:
- Rinse the rice in water and soak it in water for 30 minutes.
- In a pot or pressure cooker, heat the oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the cumin seeds and wait for them to crackle.
- Add the chopped onion, garlic, and ginger and sauté until the onion is translucent.
- Add the prawns, coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, and salt. Mix well and sauté for another 2-3 minutes.
- Add the soaked rice, water, and cilantro. Mix well.
- If using a pot, cover it and cook over medium-low heat for about 18-20 minutes or until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed.
- If using a pressure cooker, close the lid and cook for 1 whistle on high heat and then for another 5-7 minutes on low heat.
- Turn off the heat and wait for the pressure to release naturally.
- Once the pressure is released, open the cooker and fluff the rice with a fork.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot.

- You can add some vegetables like carrots, peas, or corn for more nutrition and variety.
