Street Food Style Chilli Chicken is a popular dish in India, particularly in street food stalls. It is made with marinated chicken that is stir-fried with spices and vegetables. The recipe for making Street Food Style Chilli Chicken is as follows:

Ingredients:

  • 500g boneless chicken, cut into bite-size pieces
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp corn flour
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • Oil for frying

For the Sauce:

  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp red chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • Salt to taste

Instructions:

Marinade:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine chicken, soy sauce, vinegar, red chili powder, black pepper powder, salt, corn flour, all-purpose flour, and ginger-garlic paste.
  2. Mix well and marinate the chicken for at least 30 minutes.

Frying: 3. Heat oil in a pan for frying.

  1. Carefully drop the chicken pieces into the hot oil and fry them until they turn golden brown.
  2. Drain the fried chicken on a paper towel to remove excess oil.

Sauce: 6. In a separate pan, heat oil and add ginger-garlic paste.

  1. Add onions, bell peppers, green chilies, red chili sauce, soy sauce, vinegar and salt.
  2. Stir-fry the vegetables until they are softened.
  3. Add the fried chicken to the pan and toss to coat the chicken with the sauce.
  4. Cook for a few minutes until the chicken is heated through and the sauce thickens.

Serve hot with rice or noodles!

Tips:

  • For added heat, you can add more red chili powder or green chilies to the marinade or the sauce.
  • Adjust the amount of soy sauce, vinegar, and red chili sauce according to your taste.
  • You can also add some chopped spring onion to the sauce for added flavor.
  • If you want to make it more dryer, Cook it for a little longer after adding chicken to the sauce.
