Street Food Style Chilli Chicken is a popular dish in India, particularly in street food stalls. It is made with marinated chicken that is stir-fried with spices and vegetables. The recipe for making Street Food Style Chilli Chicken is as follows:
Ingredients:
- 500g boneless chicken, cut into bite-size pieces
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp vinegar
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp black pepper powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp corn flour
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- Oil for frying
For the Sauce:
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 2 green chilies, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp red chili sauce
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp vinegar
- Salt to taste
Instructions:
Marinade:
- In a mixing bowl, combine chicken, soy sauce, vinegar, red chili powder, black pepper powder, salt, corn flour, all-purpose flour, and ginger-garlic paste.
- Mix well and marinate the chicken for at least 30 minutes.
Frying: 3. Heat oil in a pan for frying.
- Carefully drop the chicken pieces into the hot oil and fry them until they turn golden brown.
- Drain the fried chicken on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
Sauce: 6. In a separate pan, heat oil and add ginger-garlic paste.
- Add onions, bell peppers, green chilies, red chili sauce, soy sauce, vinegar and salt.
- Stir-fry the vegetables until they are softened.
- Add the fried chicken to the pan and toss to coat the chicken with the sauce.
- Cook for a few minutes until the chicken is heated through and the sauce thickens.
Serve hot with rice or noodles!
Tips:
- For added heat, you can add more red chili powder or green chilies to the marinade or the sauce.
- Adjust the amount of soy sauce, vinegar, and red chili sauce according to your taste.
- You can also add some chopped spring onion to the sauce for added flavor.
- If you want to make it more dryer, Cook it for a little longer after adding chicken to the sauce.
