Here is a basic recipe for Andhra Allam Pachadi:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of grated ginger
- 1/4 cup of tamarind paste
- 1/4 cup of jaggery
- 2-3 green chilies
- Salt, to taste
- 1 tsp oil
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 tsp chana dal
- 1 tsp urad dal
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 2-3 dried red chilies
- 1 tsp urad dal
- 3-4 curry leaves
Instructions:
- Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, chana dal, urad dal, cumin seeds, dried red chilies, urad dal, curry leaves and sauté till the dals turn golden brown.
- Add grated ginger, green chilies, sauté for 2 minutes.
- Add tamarind paste and jaggery, stir well
