Poppy seeds Carrot Halwa

Poppy Seeds Carrot Halwa is a delicious and rich dessert made with grated carrots, milk, ghee, and poppy seeds. Here is a recipe that you can use as a starting point:

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb of grated carrots
  • 4 cups of whole milk
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1/4 cup of ghee
  • 1/4 cup of poppy seeds
  • 1/4 tsp of cardamom powder
  • 1 tbsp of chopped nuts (almonds, cashews, and pistachios) for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Heat ghee in a pan and add the grated carrots. Cook for about 10 minutes on medium heat or until the carrots are soft and tender.
  2. Add the milk and sugar and bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 20-25 minutes or until the milk has been absorbed and the halwa has thickened.
  4. Roast the poppy seeds in a pan until they are fragrant.
  5. Add the roasted poppy seeds and cardamom powder to the halwa and mix well.
  6. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  7. Garnish with chopped nuts and serve warm.
  8. Enjoy it as a dessert, or as a sweet snack.

You can adjust the sugar quantity according to your preference. You can also use condensed milk instead of sugar.
